Arvind Kejriwal and Indian Public

Many people criticise Arvind Kejriwal and AAP, may be  just to prove that they know politics and nation building better. They try to prove that they are elite, well versed in all fields and are way ahead in debating, guiding and approving the traditional way of governance, with a right to criticize and applaud here and there. They have a very good helicopter view of society and Indian fabric but would not allow their helicopter to land on the raw fields to have a close look of the ills at its roots. Kejriwal attacks head on at the roots and therefore, either the opponents ignore him speechlessly and laughably or try to find faults with his ways and means, diverting and missing the real substance.

On the other hand, Indian public are showing more sense of understanding and therefore, they are aligning more and more with Kejriwal and AAP. One Arvind Kejriwal may succeed or fail but the Indian democracy and people will win and many Kejriwals will arise from nowhere out of this churning.

Who is the real culprit? One who is doing crime or the one who let it happen before his eyes.

This question reminds me a story of a boy initiating to stealing in childhood, patronized and protected by his loving aunt, growing to a man and resorting to big thefts. One day he is caught and punished in the court. Before being sent to severe imprisonment, the judge asks him his last wish. The man desires to meet his loving aunt and say something to her. She is called in the court and the man approaches her and pretends to say something in her ear. He says to his aunt if she had stopped him from stealing in childhood itself, he would not have turned as a big thief and would have saved from the harsh punishment. Saying this, he bites her ear severely leaving her bleeding as punishment for not doing her duty for not stopping him as a child from stealing. The moral of the story is that Dhratarashtra and Bhishma Pitamaha, who sided with the wrong doers “the Kauravas” and patronized  “adharma” are equally responsible for the crime.

A reality

A reality,….A child comes in this world with a body….every child comes in this world with a body. The child does not come with a name and caste, does not come with a religion, even with a language to speak. The parents give the child a label, a name, a family name, a family caste, a family religion and teach a family language. If these labels are not attached to the child, there will be no separate identity, no different religion, and no division. The labels do not come free to the child. The child develops a gradual concept of I, me and mine. The consciousness says “It is my name, my family name, my religion, my community, and my country”. The concept develops into “Ego”, a self “ego”, a deep attachment to the false image of self which is the cause of all conflicts. Can these conflicts be avoided? Yes, can be, but needs learning, teaching and needs modifying the consciousness at the deepest level that I came to this world with a nameless, casteless, religion less body, so there is no difference between me and my fellow travelers to this planet, irrespective of his/her position, wealth and possessions . Our education, our political and governance system do not teach us this reality. Let us change this at least at our level by constantly remembering the truth, the reality.
