What a speech! Makes us speechless! What a great voice! What a great personality behind! An epitome of pure truth India has produced!
11th of Sept. 1893;…..Sisters and brothers of the America…...I thank you in the name of…..I thank you in the name of millions and millions of Hindu people of all classes and sects,……..I am proud to belong to a religion which has taught the world both the tolerations and universal acceptance……We believe not only in universal toleration, but we accept all religions to be true…….I am proud to belong to a nation which has sheltered the persecuted and the refugees of all religions and all nations of the world,……different streams having their sources in different places…leading to sea…..wonderful doctrine preached in Gita….whosoever comes to me through whatever form, I reach him…..
The essence of humanity, the truth expressed in few words! Each word a great pearl!
The world would have been a conflict-less place today had it walked on the doctrine given by Swami Vivekananda before more than a century ago. All the problems the world is facing today would have been non-existent had it followed the path shown by the great saint and a highly evolved monk from Hindu religion, who was much beyond the narrow boundaries of any sect or religion.
Alas! The irony and tragedy today is that in the same great land of Swami Vivekananda, talking about Hindu religion; talking about Gita is termed as communal and anti-secular!
The pearls are lost!
