Love Kills Six Times More.....Times of India -A Monumental Blunder

Today's Sunday Times Edition of the popular news paper in India, The Times of India has committed a monumental blunder by making a front page headline reading "Love kills six times more Indian than terror attacks". The Times of India (ToI) has committed a grave injustice to it's Indianness, to it's people and above all, has fatally abused the word "Love". The stories that many Indian media houses are sold and are solely working for their masters are not new. Today's edition  further reinforces this belief. This act  is the height of corrupt mindset of ToI making the readers sick. How love can kill anybody? If one kills another person in the name of love, it is not the love but it is sheer lust, anger, hate and jealousy. Love can't kill but love gives life. ToI is supposed to be the conscious keeper of the nation and though has an array of intellectuals in it's editorial team, how they have displayed such an irresponsible behaviour?. Either the ToI has forgotten the real meaning of the word "love" or deliberately abused it for cheap popularity. Even more serious issue can be that they have become deliberately blind to achieve some specific hidden objective. It seems to be the possibility as there is is no dearth of proper word to use in place. It also becomes evident that the ToI cares damn for the sensibility of its readers.

Everybody will agree that love commits the universal oneness, vasudhev kutumbakam, forgiveness, compassion and believes in the principle of live and let live. As per Wikipedia and I quote " Love is a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes that ranges from interpersonal affection ("I love my mother") to pleasure ("I loved that meal"). It can refer to an emotion of a strong attraction and personal attachment. Love can also be a virtue representing human kindness, compassion, and affection—"the unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another". It may also describe compassionate and affectionate actions towards other humans, one's self or animals."  Definitely, love is a wonderful virtue of the mankind and such  virtues can't kill.  From where the ToI has derived the definition of love that kills six times more Indians that terror attacks? Is it trying to glorify terror attacks which are being deliberately labelled as less evil than love?  Without any doubt, the ToI has gone horribly wrong; love is not evil but it is the life line of the humanity, and the life life and essence of all religions.  It is shameful act by ToI in abusing the purity of the world "love" and must apologize for the grave error.

Many saints world wide are preaching love towards God and mankind thoughout the ages. The Bible says "Thou shalt love  thy neighbor as yourself." The father of nation, Mahatma Gandhi preached love too.  To him all humans under the sky are children of God and thus have right to be loved and cared equally.  Paramhansa Yogananda said; "Many human beings say “I love you” one day and reject you the next. That is not love. One whose heart is filled with the love of God cannot willfully hurt anyone. When you love God without reservation, He fills your heart with His unconditional love for all. That love no human tongue can describe....The ordinary man is incapable of loving others in this way. Self-centered in the consciousness of “I, me, and mine,” he has not yet discovered the omnipresent God who resides in him and in all other beings. To me there is no difference between one person and another; I behold all as soul-reflections of the one God. I can't think of anyone as a stranger, for I know that we are all part of the One Spirit. When you experience the true meaning of religion, which is to know God, you will realize that He is your Self, and that He exists equally and impartially in all beings. Then you will be able to love others as your own Self.

Leaving aside such wonderful teachings available about love, ToI has abused it dangerously today.  People with vested interests only can do it; pure hearts can't.  Alas! The Times of India has gone impure. It has done a monumental blunder and glorified the lust, anger, hate jealousy and terror in one act by replacing all these evils with the pure word "love".
