His Master's Voice

Dr Manmohan Singh's absence at the GST launching program at the Parliament was quite puzzling. Dr. Manmohan Singh was the country's Prime Minister for ten years. I repeat, he was the Prime Minister of the country and not of the Congress party alone. Like, the President, Shri Pranab Mukherjee is the President of the country though he was a Congress/UPA candidate for Presidentship before election, he graced the occasion yesterday night. Shri H D Deve Gowda, the other former Prime Minister was gracefully present in the GST launching program though he said once that he will leave Karnataka if Modi becomes prime minister. Shri Atal Behari, another former Prime Minister could not be present due to health reasons. But, Dr Manmohan Singh has used his great wisdom and registered his absence? Is it simply because His Master's Voice  did not permit  him.  Dr. Manmohan Singh as as prime minister has immense contribution in shaping up the GST and therefore his presence at the launching ceremony would have been shown his gracefulness to the world. At the fagging end of his political career, he should have not cared for His Master's Voice and should have attended the program. But, as it is said 'old habits die hard' he could not gether enough courage to defy the Voice and only acted under his (in)famous political compulsions.

The boycott is in fact his personal loss, leaving apart the loss of Congress party.

It is Prime Minister, Modi's magnanimity and greatness that he honoured all those who have contributed in shaping GST and invited all key persons to  grace the launching ceremony irrespective of their belongingness to the political outfits. The absentees have only shown there meanness and played low level of politics.
